Elixir Master

Bringing fragmented internal operations into one connected platform.

Context

Elixir Master is an internal operations platform for a finance company. It brings together the tools that help the team manage employees, clients and day-to-day operations across the organisation.

Before the redesign, each function had its own disconnected tools , spreadsheets, separate portals and standalone workflows. The goal was to bring everything into one integrated system that felt coherent and easy to navigate.

The Challenge

How do we turn disconnected tools and workflows into one system that feels simple to use?

It needed to answer:

Clientsneeded one unified place to view and manage all client data.
Employeesneeded simple, efficient task and workflow management.
Managersneeded clear oversight of operations and approvals.
Filesneeded to be organised and accessible as part of the workflow.

Process

How the platform was constructed

01 Creating the Platform Foundation

A shared structure connects every part of the product.

Consistent navigation, layout patterns and interaction models meant users could move across modules , clients, employees, tasks and files , without re-learning a new interface each time.

The system needed to feel familiar for different operational roles while staying flexible enough to support each module's specific needs.

02 Connecting Management Workflows

Employees, clients and firms follow one consistent interaction model.

Each management area , clients, employees, firms , used to be handled separately with no shared patterns or connected data.

I designed a unified interaction model so that creating, viewing and updating records followed the same structure across every module, reducing training time and making the platform predictable to use.

03 Structuring Complex Task Management

Turn multiple task dependencies into clear, manageable workflows.

Tasks, employee reviews, task templates and approval chains created significant complexity for both employees and managers.

I structured these workflows using clear list views, step-based task creation and shared status patterns so teams could manage work without navigating between separate tools or losing track of what needed to happen next.

04 Simplifying File Management

Make documents organisationally part of the workflow.

Files and documents were spread across emails, shared drives and standalone portals , disconnected from the tasks and clients they belonged to.

I integrated file management directly into the relevant modules so documents were always found in the right context, with clear actions for uploading, viewing and sharing without leaving the workflow.

Takeaway

What This Project Demonstrates

Enterprise UX

Designing a connected internal operations platform for a finance organisation.

Workflow Architecture

Structuring complex task, approval and management workflows into clear, navigable flows.

Information Architecture

Organising multi-module enterprise data into a coherent, role-appropriate structure.

Systems Thinking

Replacing fragmented tools with a single platform built around shared patterns and consistent interaction.

Interaction Design

Creating predictable, efficient interactions for operational tasks across clients, employees and file management.

What I Took Away

The biggest challenge in internal tool design is not the complexity of individual features , it is making the system feel like one coherent thing.

When people use a platform every day, inconsistency becomes friction. Building shared patterns, a unified information model and consistent interactions across every module is what makes an internal platform feel professional and trustworthy rather than just functional.

Research documentation, site maps, and design decisions are available on request , happy to walk through the full process in a conversation.
